UI improvements in our Synonyms
Products:
We have released some UI changes in the Synonyms section in order to make it easier for the user to understand and use this feature.
If you use our Search product, when accessing the Synonyms section, you will notice that:
We have renamed the synonyms type in an attempt to make them more self explanatory of their nature. You can now find Uni-directional synonyms (those in which the search term will return results for the synonyms but not the other way around). And also Bi-directional synonyms, in which the search term will be considered equal to each of the synonyms.
Each synonym instance can only be either uni or bi-directional, in order to reduce complexity and provide a clearer overview.
The list of synonyms includes now the synonym type, as well as a visual indicator of the relationship between the search term and the synonyms.
Synonyms can now be enabled/disabled individually to test their specific impact in the site’s search results.
Read more about the different types of synonyms, as well as when and how to use them.
