Getting Started with Recommendations Using Shopware 6

Add dynamic Recommendations to your Shopware webshop using the plugin.

Getting Started

When implementing Recommendations on any of your webshop pages, be sure to first create Designs and Content in my.clerk.io.

Homepage Recommendations

  1. In the Shopware backend, go to Content → Shopping Experiences.

  2. Click the Layout for your homepage. Usually, this is simply called Homepage

  3. Click the text block, and then the settings icon.

  4. Delete all the existing text and click on the </> icon.

  5. Copy the embed code for your homepage recommendations from my.clerk.io, and paste into the field.

Product Page Recommendations

  1. In the Shopware backend, go to Settings → System → Plugins.

  2. Next to the Clerk.io app, click the three dots … → Config

  3. On the plugin page, choose the correct Sales Channel in the top of the app

  4. Scroll to Product Page Settings and set Status: Enabled.

  5. Click Save.

Category Page Recommendations

  1. In the Shopware backend, go to Settings → System → Plugins.
  2. Next to the Clerk.io app, click the three dots … → Config
  3. On the plugin page, choose the correct Sales Channel in the top of the app
  4. Scroll to Category Settings and set Status: Enabled.
  5. Copy the Content name over from my.clerk.io for your Category Page recommendations
  6. Click Save.

Cart Page Recommendations

  1. In the Shopware backend, go to Settings → System → Plugins.

  2. Next to the Clerk.io app, click the three dots … → Config

  3. On the plugin page, choose the correct Sales Channel in the top of the app

  4. Scroll to Cart Settings and set Status: Enabled.

  5. Copy the Content name over from my.clerk.io for your Cart Page recommendations

  6. Click Save.

Add-to-Basket / Powerstep Recommendations

  1. In the Shopware backend, go to Settings → System → Plugins.
  2. Next to the Clerk.io app, click the three dots … → Config
  3. On the plugin page, choose the correct Sales Channel in the top of the app
  4. Scroll to Powerstep Settings and set Status: Enabled.
  5. Choose whether to use a full middle Page (recommended) or a Popup that is displayed when a user adds a product.
  6. Copy the Content name over from my.clerk.io for your add-to-basket recommendations
  7. Click Save.

Exit Intent Recommendations

  1. In the Shopware backend, go to Settings → System → Plugins.
  2. Next to the Clerk.io app, click the three dots … → Config
  3. On the plugin page, choose the correct Sales Channel in the top of the app
  4. Scroll to Exit Intent Settings and set Status: Enabled.
  5. Copy the Content name for Exit Intent recommendations over from the embed code in my.clerk.io
  6. Click Save.

Some embed codes require variables like product or category IDs. In these cases, they’ll be populated in the embed code, but be sure to double-check these are the correct variables to reference within your Shopware 6 portal.
